How much is 100 dollars in naira today?

133,013.99 Nigerian Naira, the rate above is the mid-market rate fetched live and updated automatically. One hundred dollars is the benchmark conversion in Nigeria: the amount people quote when they want to know what the naira is really worth, the test size for a new remittance app, and the size of a first freelance invoice. Use the converter to check any amount in both directions.

1000 naira to dollars

$0.75 at today’s rate. The Naira - Dollar rate moves every day, so the amount you get depends on the day you convert and the channel you use. That is the trap this page exists to show: a naira saving toward a dollar-priced goal can quietly shrink as the rate steps, which is why dollar-denominated accounts are worth understanding.

50 pounds to naira

87,924.77 Nigerian Naira. Sending money from the UK? See how to receive money from abroad cheaply in our remittance guide. The pound trades at a distinctly higher naira value than the dollar, so £50 is worth noticeably more than $50, worth knowing when you compare what a UK or a US-based client will pay you.

1 dollar to naira

₦1,330.14 for one US dollar at today’s rate. This is the anchor figure everything else derives from. Check the live rate grid above for the pound, euro, dirham, riyal, cedi and more.

Which currencies does the converter support?

This converter is built for the currencies Nigerian readers actually convert, not a token list of a dozen obscure ones. You can convert naira to and from:

  • The majors, US Dollar, British Pound and Euro, the three you send and receive most often.
  • The neighbours, Ghanaian Cedi, South African Rand, West and Central African CFA, Kenyan Shilling and Egyptian Pound.
  • The trade and travel currencies, Canadian Dollar, UAE Dirham, Saudi Riyal, Chinese Yuan, Indian Rupee and Japanese Yen.

Every pair is computed from the same live rate engine, so you never hit a stale or unsupported conversion. Naira to dollar in one direction, dollar to naira in the other, pound to naira, cedi to naira, all handled.

Why the rate you get is never the rate on this page

The figure here is the mid-market rate, the honest midpoint between what buyers and sellers of a currency use worldwide, before any fee. No bank, app or platform hands you the mid-market rate for free. Every channel adds a margin, and at small amounts that margin is a real slice of the total.

The single most useful habit in Nigerian currency conversion is to ignore headline rates entirely and compare the final naira figure that lands in your account after every fee. Run the same amount through two or three channels and write down what actually arrives, the difference is often thousands of naira.

The cheapest channel is the one that delivers the most naira, not the one with the loudest "zero fees" badge.Gwill Finance

Official rate versus parallel market: the gap, explained

Nigeria runs a managed FX market, which means the rate banks and official windows offer can trail what dollars genuinely trade for between individuals. On peer-to-peer platforms, where ordinary buyers and sellers set their own prices, a dollar routinely converts to more naira than the official figure suggests. That spread is not a trick, it is the market pricing the difficulty of actually getting dollars through official channels.

This converter models both sides. Toggle to the parallel market view to see the street price, and the "gap" line shows you exactly what you give up by using official channels at the black-market premium. That awareness is what lets you negotiate a fair price instead of assuming the headline rate is the best you can do.

How to get the best rate, every time

  1. Compare the final amount, not the advertised rate. A platform with a visible fee and a sharp rate often beats one with "zero fees" and a wide margin.
  2. If you are receiving, use a remittance app or marketplace that pays out in naira at close to market rates, and check the guaranteed payout before the sender confirms.
  3. If you are spending dollars on subscriptions, gaming or app stores, a dollar virtual card funded through naira is usually smoother than a naira card, which may simply decline on foreign charges.
  4. If you are holding for a dollar-priced goal, a domiciliary account keeps the dollars as dollars instead of converting at a moment the rate does not favour you.
  5. Timing matters. Rates step daily, so if you are not in a hurry, averaging two or three conversions beats betting everything on one morning’s price.

Is the rate automatically updated?

Yes. The rate is pulled from a live market FX API and cached for thirty minutes, refreshed automatically, nothing is updated by hand, so it never goes stale. The timestamp beside the figure tells you how fresh the underlying rate is. If the market feed is ever paused, the page says so rather than pretending a stale figure is live.
